The Fight is Over

Ray's body began to shut down last night. They called us in and there was really nothing else they could do for him.....

Ray died peacefully this morning surrounded by family. He quit breathing as they finished the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Details on rosary and funeral will be posted as we know about them.

Kim & family, my sincerest condolences to you all. It's trite to say it, but you and all of us know that Ray is in a better place now with Our Lord Jesus. Rest assured that our paryers for your family will continue. In Christ Jesus, Louis.

We love Ray and we love all of you. Can't wait for the day when we will see him again - and this time, no one and nothing will be able to keep apart those who love God and each other. How great is out Faith! We are a people of hope who smile through our tears and keep going! We are here for you in prayer and in anything else you need.

Dear Kim,

After I spoke with Sr. Mary Michael this afternoon, I was thinking of Ray and how fortunate I was to have met him. I remember sitting in your kitchen that evening a couple of years ago and feeling so at home and at peace! I remember thinking to myself, "Man, I don't want to leave. I want to stay here and listen to this man speak about his faith all night!" And you - what a precious Woman of Grace! You have in so many ways imaged our Holy Mother, Mary! The way you love the people you meet with your terrific smile and warm heart! I know you have some tough days ahead, but I am confident that through your faith and love for our Lord, you and your family are going to be okay! God Bless you all, and know that the prayers are continuing. Only now, you have a saint in the presence of God to pray for you too!

With much love,
Michele S.

Dearest Kim,
"The strife is over, the battle won." I had just been remembering this past week that when I saw Ray at the Respect Life Banquet last year, I commented on how great he looked. He said, "Sister, I don't have leukemia; I have Jesus!" I have quoted him many times. And today I say "YES"!, he has Jesus in the most wonderful way possible-forever in eternity, face to face.
You and Ray have been forever our friends-our prayers are with you with so much love. Blessings of God's peace and loving comfort be with you and all of the family, Sr. Cecilia, DLJC
(I am out to town this week-the Sisters made sure to inform me to Ray's passing to Heaven.)
